About
ATMs are the only physical touchpoint for T-Bank customers, with over 2,500 units across Russia.
While T-Bank is a fully digital bank, ATMs play a crucial role in shaping the offline experience and reinforcing brand recognition.
Challenge
While other T-Bank services were actively evolving and adopting new design approaches, ATMs had remained unchanged for a long time and were significantly lagging behind the rest of the ecosystem. We needed to completely rethink the ATM interface — making it modern, user-friendly, and consistent across all devices.
The challenge included creating a new design system, simplifying user flows, speeding up authorization, and improving security. It was crucial to maintain strong brand recognition and make the ATM experience as simple and seamless as possible for all user groups.
My Role
Acted as a hands-on leader, player-coach, and art director of the project.
Supported the team in developing key user flows, interaction patterns, and visual solutions.
Conducted regular design reviews, ensuring consistency and high quality at every stage.
Managed communication with the business team, defended design decisions to stakeholders, and helped shape the overall product vision.
Results
As a result, we launched an updated ATM interface that made the user experience more modern, intuitive, and visually cohesive. The redesign strengthened brand recognition at offline touchpoints and increased user trust.
We also introduced a unified visual style and a new design system, which accelerated further development and maintenance.
After the update, the use of NFC authorization on ATMs with the new interface increased by +30%, and the number of user complaints dropped to zero within the first three months.
